How to upload a book to an e-book

Despite the modern age of technological development, reading is still the most popular activity. But now it has a different format due to the appearance of electronic books - small devices that allow you to read text in different formats. "Readers" have many advantages. But you also need to know how to download books to an electronic device.

What is required

There are several basic ways to download text to an e-book:

  1. Using SD memory cards.
  2. Connect to a laptop via a USB cable.
  3. Using directories of network libraries (so-called, ODPS directories).

Reference! There are other free ways to download a book to an electronic reading device, for example, by connecting a “reader” to a laptop or the Internet using Wi-Fi. But only happy owners of electronic devices with built-in Wi-Fi can download works in this way.

Ways to upload an e-book

First of all, in the operating instructions or on the Internet you need to find out what formats an electronic device can support. The main ones are pdf, txt, rtf, fb2, doc, as a rule, these equipment can be read by any equipment of this type. If there is no support for a specific format, then the downloaded text will not open.

Via USB cable

This way to download an e-book from a laptop is suitable for any gadgets, any manufacturer.

The main advantage: versatility, since the USB port is located on any reading device and on every PC.

Together with the "reader" in the kit is a USB-cable. It is required to connect to a laptop. Using software and wires, the gadget sees the equipment as a USB flash drive. Go into it and find the folders: with music, images and texts. The following actions are performed:

  • go to the folder document, book or with a similar name;
  • upload the required book in the required format to the PC;
  • copy the text file to the desired folder;
  • disconnect the USB cable from the laptop.

Using Network Libraries

Using online directories (ODPS), you can also download the book electronically. This technology has appeared relatively recently and represents the electronic version of libraries: ODPS, like traditional libraries, are located at addresses and are divided into directories.

Main advantage: quick search (due to the availability of directories). Network libraries can only be used with applications that support the appropriate format. Applications are already built into certain readers. The rest of them must be downloaded (for example, through a laptop).

Programs for using ODPS:

  • AlReader
  • OReader;
  • FBReader
  • Cool Reader.

To access network libraries, you need the Internet, so turn on Wi-Fi, then do the following:

  • go to the application;
  • open the menu (in OReader the menu can be opened with the button in the middle);
  • click the "Open Book" button;
  • Find the "Network Libraries" menu. Several applications already have several libraries. If there are no directories, or you need to add another library, click on the "Add directory" item. In the window that appears, in the field, type the address of the desired site. Lists of libraries of popular resources can be found on the Internet;
  • select a library or go to the added one;
  • search for the title of the work;
  • find the book and click on its shortcut - the download is automatic.

Using a memory card

This option for downloading books is used if an SD card is installed in the equipment. The meaning is exactly the same as in the first case - to copy the desired work to the memory of the reader. The only difference is that using USB, the text is copied to the internal memory, and the SD copy to the external.

Plus: no USB cable and special software are required; you can install various cards in an e-book and read texts from cards on various gadgets (for example, on a phone).

Minus: computers (laptops are an exception) do not have a port for SD cards.

To complete the following steps:

  • remove the memory card from the “reader” (it is advisable to first turn off the device);
  • insert the card into the laptop;
  • wait until it is determined;
  • go to the map, find the folder for text documents;
  • copy the file downloaded before this to the folder;
  • remove the card and install it in the electronic reader.

Attention! You can also copy text to the card using the USB cable - the SD folder is displayed next to the internal memory folder.

The electronic book allows the full reading of any texts. The choice of uploading directories is up to the user. For active readers, it is best to create an office on official sites and use legal texts. Fans of the "free" is best to download using iTunes. In this case, there is no guarantee of the quality of the material and the correctness of the information.
