The printer queues and does not print

Modern printers are easy to use. Regardless of the model and type of device, the principle of operation is quite simple. This situation may cause difficulties in operation or interruption of the functioning of the entire system. At home, there is time to eliminate the drawback, but in the conditions of the functioning of the whole office, this hitch can lead to serious difficulties. Before restoring the device and performing various manipulations, you need to find out the cause of the problem. To do this, carefully inspect the housing, paying particular attention to the following points:

  • Correct connection of all wires to the power source and to the computer.
  • Software version and driver availability.
  • System settings and operation mode selection.
  • The presence of defects in the design of the equipment itself: mechanical damage, paper jam, lack of a cartridge.

The most common cause is the malfunctions and system failures described above. These malfunctions are easily fixed at home.

IMPORTANT: Do not carry out repairs yourself; contact a service center for help, where you will be provided with free assistance with a warranty card.

If, after examination and thorough diagnosis, you were able to find the source of the problem, you can proceed to resolve it. To do this, use a step-by-step plan to restore printing:

  1. Make sure that all wires are connected to the correct sockets and check their integrity. Replace if necessary.
  2. Inspect the outer case, remove wrinkled paper, and refill the cartridge.
  3. Go to the printer settings and set it to "default" mode. If there are several devices, select the necessary option as the main one for printing output.

After performing all the manipulations, the technician should work and eliminate the problem with printing documents.

IMPORTANT: After troubleshooting, you may need to clear the print queue. When you repeatedly click on the printout (if the printer is not working), the queue becomes clogged. This may cause multiple files to be reprinted.

A network printer works in conjunction with a local group of connected devices, so its operation may depend on the state of the paired equipment of the entire group. It is important to consider that for the printer to function, the host computer must be connected to the network and have access to the network, acting as a server for collecting and sending information to print.
In the “Devices and Printers” menu section, check the specified operating mode for a specific type of device. Opposite the printer used to display information, a check must be checked. If it is missing, you must change the settings and configure the system for normal operation.
