Oven dimensions and dimensions

A full-sized oven can have a volume of 56 to 74 liters, while kids with a capacity of 27 to 42 liters fit into the compact category. Drawing an analogy with refrigerators, one could say that "the more, the better." taking up more space, analogues by reducing the time of cooking.

Dimensions of built-in ovens

When selecting kitchen equipment, attention is drawn to culinary preferences and family size. In second place is the size of the kitchen itself. This order is due to the limited functionality of the ovens, depending on their size.

IMPORTANT! With the same external dimensions, it is often more profitable to opt for the built-in electric oven. The reason is that the gas version, even if its cost is proportionate, has fewer functions, which is usually limited to 5-6 modes of operation.

Standard dimensions

The time-tested classic is a cabinet, the height and width of the front of which are 60 cm and the depth is 55 cm. These are the dimensions of the outside of the oven. Inside, depending on the number of built-in options, it can be significantly less. The internal “useful” height of such an oven rarely exceeds 56 cm. The same applies to other parameters.

Custom Cabinets

Often there are ovens, one of the overall parameters of which is changed up or down. The most noteworthy variety are models with an additional oven: two combined oversized compartments, where the main working compartment is adjacent to the smaller auxiliary one. The vertical arrangement is more common, because of which the cabinets reach a height of 90 cm.

Non-standard ones also include almost all microwave ovens. With the usual width, they have a small height, ranging in the range from 36 to 55 cm.

Narrow and wide

The height of the wide oven can vary from 48 to 60 cm.

For a large, pastry-loving family, in tight spaces, it is best to choose a wide oven. This option will allow you to cook more servings in a shorter amount of time.

Also, this parameter affects the manufacturer's capabilities: up to 12 operating modes can be provided in the built-in electric oven with a width of 90 cm. But such a furnace is usually placed below, under the hob, which is not always convenient.

A more comfortable location is at the level of the stove or slightly higher. Thanks to placement at this height, it is easier to control the degree of readiness of dishes or to clean the oven. But a pencil case for embedded equipment of such a width will take up too much space. Manufacturers took this moment into account and released narrow, from 45 cm, models of standard height. The only drawback of such options is that if you need to prepare a large amount of baking, it often has to be placed in several tiers. And this affects the speed and quality of baking.

If baking is a rare guest on the table, then the small width of the oven will not bring significant discomfort due to the small number of servings or the increased duration of cooking.

Depth Dimensions

The standard depth of the kitchen worktop, under which the oven is usually built in, is 60 cm. This parameter is not accidental and is the result of numerous studies that have shown that such a table allows the cook to freely place the ingredients and kitchen appliances necessary for cooking. Therefore, with the depth of the oven, manufacturers experiment extremely rarely. Compact models with a depth of 45 cm, designed for installation "at height" exist. But they are so unclaimed and impractical that in search of such an oven you have to visit more than one point of sale.
