Brick stoves projects

It’s hard to meet lovers of baths. This is a great way to relax and escape from everyday life. In order not to constantly record and not spend time in dubious sanitation saunas, you can build yourself.Despitethat that it’s not an easy construction, it’s not so difficult to build it yourself - the main thing is to strictly follow the instructions and take into account advice based on the experience of other builders and users.

Varieties of brick stoves for a bath

Brick stoves for projects are different. Depending on the tastes, there are several varieties of baths. Someone likes a simpler option, which is accompanied by the smell of burning, evoking the atmosphere, someone advocates a civil and modern bathhouse. It’s useless to argue about tastes, so check out the options you’ve already tried and choose the most suitable for yourself:

  • In black. The oldest view. It suggests the absence of a chimney, which contributes to the presence of a large amount of steam in the room and the corresponding aroma. However, for the bath to be ready for use, you will have to wait until the fuel has completely burned out.
  • On the gray. One of the most economical options. In this case, the stove is provided with a chimney, which allows you to warm up the room faster, however, to use the bath, you must also wait until the wood burns out completely.
  • On white. The best option for both cost and cleanliness. A large amount of soot does not settle in such a room, but at the same time heat is well retained. The main disadvantage is the prolonged heating of the furnace, which does not satisfy everyone.
  • With a stove. A good version of the bath, in which constant attributes are a tank mounted on a cast-iron stove and masonry. In order for the temperature to remain at the desired level for a long time, the tank closes on three sides. Usually it is located on top of the furnace, and bath stones above the chimney.

In order to be economical, a stone stove is usually constructed in the gray version. This option is rich in steam.Technically, the design is a combination of a combustion chamber and bath stones located on top of it.

The dimensions of the oven depend on your requirements and capabilities.In a large room, it makes no sense to install a small stove, since it will not be enough for heating. Whereas in a small one, a large one can create problems when moving and too high a temperature that interferes with a comfortable pastime.

Designs of wood-fired bathhouses are carried out in different orders, with which drawings will help to figure out. Brick structures are characterized by long-term operation.

What is the order

By order is meant a bricklaying scheme with notes on the location of the material in each row. The order is selected in accordance with the dimensions of the steam room and the location of the structural elements.

IMPORTANT. If you yourself do not have the skills of a bricklayer, then follow the algorithm without deviations. With a custom design, you should contact a professional for changes.

Bath stove design: step-by-step ordering

Any masonry begins with the laying of the zero row to match the foundation of the furnace to the level of the floors. The height of the structure is determined from the ratio of ten centimeters per layer of brick.

Brick can be laid in several ways:

  • on the side;
  • flat wide.

Laying methods can alternate within the same order. It is necessary to lay in strict accordance with the chosen scheme. An example of masonry for an oven with a water tank can be found in the figures.

Building a bath with your own hands is not difficult. However, in order to speed up the process, as well as corny security, you should not do this alone.

Algorithms for building any kind of bath are identical to each other. Particularly complex options include only sophisticated designs, from which a beginner in construction should refrain from accidentally not wasting material in vain.

How to make a project safe: key features

When building a bath, it is first of all important to pay attention to fire safety.At its request, the distance between the furnace and the walls should be at least 30 cm.When using a protective layer, it can be reduced by half.

The roof material is also insulated from the chimney using special materials. These, as a rule, include asbestos or basalt cardboard.

To ensure a safe furnace, a refractory material is placed in front of the furnace.

IMPORTANT. No matter which safe bath project you choose, the risk of burns during careless use always remains.

Choose material

Silicate brick is categorically unsuitable for use at high temperatures, since it can become worthless after a week. The use of hollow bricks leads to the same result.

The best options for building a bath stove are the following types of bricks:

  • red refractory;
  • fireclay.

In order to save on costs, the furnace itself is often laid out of fireclay bricks, and the facing part is made of ceramic.

Solution preparation

During the construction of furnaces, in rare cases, resort to a clean solution of cement, since it does not differ in its resistance to high temperatures. Often, impurities are added to it in large quantities: clay and sand. You can completely abandon the use of cement. It may take some time to prepare the solution. Clay before breeding should be infused and softened, which may take several days.A mixture with sand is usually produced in a ratio of 1: 2.The output should be a consistency of thick sour cream. It is most convenient to achieve uniformity with a construction mixer or drill with a special nozzle.

To avoid drying out of the solution, it is better not to procure it for future use. If it dries slightly, then you can dilute it with a mixture of sand and water.

Bricklaying

To avoid drawing moisture from the solution with a brick, it must first be soaked for 12 hours. Fireclay bricks can be rinsed in water purely to get rid of dust.

IMPORTANT. If you use old brick for construction, then before laying it must be thoroughly cleaned.

The first row is laid out without a solution; the subsequent ones are already superimposed with a diluted 5 mm thick mixture. Surplus must be removed immediately. Since in the dried version they can interfere with the normal circulation of air in the furnace. For structural strength, a brick is usually laid out with an offset of up to half its size.

IMPORTANT. Masonry is carried out in strict accordance with the selected ordering scheme.

Chimney

For the construction of the chimney, solid bricks should be selected. The use of stumps can increase the likelihood of them falling out during operation. Particular attention should be paid to the following nuances:

  • the chimney should not narrow or expand significantly in some places;
  • the presence of excess dried mixture on the brick is not allowed;
  • the chimney should be of sufficient length so that the air has time to cool before it enters the pipe;
  • for fire safety, the pipe must also be wrapped with heat-resistant material.

By strictly following the basic tips, you can build an ideal bathhouse for yourself. However, do not rush. It is important to properly approach not only the construction process itself, but also the planning stage, so that the constructed bathhouse fully meets the requirements.
