Which boiler to choose for a private house

Which boiler to choose for a private house? A question that will interest many. Without a heating system in our country, you cannot imagine a comfortable home. It is impossible to live without heat in the winter season. And it is the boiler that is the heart of such systems. Today on sale you can find hundreds of models. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages. So which boiler should I prefer? What should be considered when making your choice?

How to choose the right boiler for home

The choice of any device depends on many parameters. It is especially important to take into account everything in the event of the acquisition of an expensive apparatus, namely, the boiler of the heating system is referred to as such. Here you should pay attention to the fuel used to operate it, and to the place where it is allowed to install the device according to the instructions, and many other factors. Let's talk about everything in more detail.

Depending on the type of fuel

The principle of operation of the heating system boiler is simple. When burning fuel, heat is generated. In a special device, it is transferred to the coolant. Water, namely it is most often used as the latter, circulates through a system of pipes and batteries and heats the home. The question is what kind of fuel is used and comes first when choosing a boiler.

Manufacturers offer the following options:

  1. Electrical devices. They are considered the simplest to operate and almost silent. The boilers are small in size and require little space. The disadvantages include high electricity costs during operation and low power.
  2. Liquid fuel devices. They have high power and high efficiency. As fuel, diesel fuel is mainly used. This is one of the main disadvantages. Diesel is quite expensive fuel. Also disadvantages include increased noise during operation.
  3. Solid fuel devices. Boilers of this type can operate on wood, coal or other materials. The main advantage of units of this type is their autonomy. For work there is no need to connect to electric networks or gas pipelines. Cons - low efficiency and the need to periodically "throw" fuel into the furnace.
  4. Gas boilers. Today they are considered the most innovative. Pipeline gas is inexpensive. The devices have sufficient power and are easy to operate.

Important! When making your choice, you need to pay attention to the features of the area and the availability of communications. If there is a main pipeline, then gas boilers are preferred. If the house is in the wilderness, in a distance from settlements, it makes sense to consider the acquisition of solid fuel devices.

Universal boilers are also available. They can combine several types of fuel used. The most common option - devices that work on wood or coal and diesel fuel. There are also models as fuels using both gas and electricity.

Features of accommodation

There is not much diversity. On sale there are two main options for heating boilers - wall and floor. The first option is considered the most convenient. Wall mounted boilers, mainly powered by electricity or gas, are installed in any suitable room. The main thing is that there should be an influx of fresh air in the room and an extract. Wall mounted boilers have a capacity of up to 100 kW.

Floor standing devices operate mainly on liquid or solid fuels. Such devices are more powerful than wall-mounted. At the same time, more requirements are made to the room where they are installed. Here, in addition to a quality ventilation system, fire safety measures must be observed.

Power

This parameter can rightfully be considered one of the most important. It depends on the capacity of the device whether there will be enough heat generated by the boiler to maintain a normal temperature in the home.

Before making your choice, you should perform preliminary calculations. In a simplified form, the required power is determined based on their area. For every square meter, one hundred watts is needed.

But for an accurate calculation, other factors must be taken into account, namely:

  • number of windows and doors;
  • number of storeys of the building;
  • the material from which the walls and roof were erected;
  • the presence of insulation and so on.

Accurate calculations are quite complicated, so manufacturers went to meet consumers. On sale are options for boilers with power control. The simplest are considered two-stage in the heating season. In this design, you can use 40 of 100 percent power. In more complex designs, there are more options. Here you can adjust the temperature from 10 to 100 percent.

Material

This is mainly a heat exchanger. It is this component that takes on all the main loads. The more reliable the heat exchanger, the longer the boiler itself will last. Manufacturers offer three main options for the material:

  1. Cast iron. The very first version of the material used for the production of heat exchangers. Cast iron is durable and durable. But he has a lot of minuses. The material is heavy and is afraid of sudden changes in temperature.
  2. Steel. Used in low-cost models. The material is lightweight and inexpensive. But, unlike cast iron, steel is afraid of corrosion, which significantly reduces the service life.
  3. Copper. Used in compact boilers. They have low weight and high heat dissipation. The main disadvantage is the high cost.

Important! If a powerful floor boiler is needed for the house, then a cast-iron heat exchanger is selected. For compact and lightweight devices, a steel or copper version is used.

The most popular boilers for a private house

The market offers a wide selection of brands and models. And which option is considered the most popular? Here the answer is unequivocal - gas equipment. Such systems have one indisputable advantage - inexpensive fuel. Also, modern gas boilers are equipped with automation, which makes it easy to control the device, and reduces the risk of problems.

If there are problems with gas supplies in the area where the private house is located, then universal models that use solid and liquid fuels are preferred. Boilers for long burning are popular. Wood pellets or coal are used here. Fuel is loaded into a large hopper and fed gradually using automation. Long burning is provided by the special furnace device. This feature allows the boiler to operate without human control for up to several days.
