What spots will be mastered and not mastered by an ultrasonic washer

About 20 years ago, an ultrasonic washing machine appeared on sale, promising to conduct a revolution among her brothers due to the small size, silent operation, low cost and minimum requirements for washing conditions.

A huge number of summer residents, residents of small-sized apartments and simply "freebie hunters" were flattered by advertising by purchasing promising devices. As a curious person, it was always interesting for me to find out how justified the purchase was and whether the seller’s vows about the magnificent qualities of this invention were confirmed. Let's talk about whether this miracle device is really able to wash clothes and remove stains from it, and if so, which ones.

What is an ultrasonic washer?

The ultrasonic washing machine is appliance weighing no more than 1.5 kg with an adapter, somewhat reminiscent of an electric shoe dryer, only in mono design. It works from a network of 220 volts. It erases due to the constantly emitted ultrasonic waves, acting on the dirt, destroying its particles and knocking out micro-blows invisible to the eye.

For washing you need a metal basin, hot water and detergent. The water in the basin should completely cover the laundry and should not be lower than 50 and not higher than 90 degrees, depending on the model. The less things you wash, the higher the quality of the wash. During the process, the laundry needs to be mixed every 15-20 minutes, otherwise you risk getting it unstretched.

The minimum working time is 1 hour, during this period manufacturers promise that things will be completely removed. However, it is necessary to rinse and squeeze them out manually, since this function is not provided in the device.

The advantage of such a device is not only small dimensions, but also significant energy savings, compared with its larger counterparts.

Does the machine remove?

Let's start with the main thing: this device really does wash things! However, the question of the effectiveness of such washing is still open, as feedback on the results is exactly the opposite: some (it is fair to say that their minority) consider the device a lifesaver, others - a useless and unnecessary thing.

If we compare the operation of such an apparatus with the results of a conventional washing machine (it doesn’t matter, an automaton or an activator type), as well as with a hand wash, then he loses significantly to them both in the quality of processing of linen and in time.

Judge for yourself: with a small number of things, the machine in the quick wash mode copes with the task in 15-20 minutes instead of an hour, while cleaning the laundry is several times better. The same can be said of primitive manual control cars.

If we consider large volumes, like bed linen, which large washing machines drive for several hours, then the time for their ultrasonic treatment will also take longer, moreover, manufacturers directly say that a large number of things negatively affect the quality of the wash.

All manufacturers pay attention to the ability of such machines to remove unpleasant odors and disinfect clothes due to the effects of ultrasound. This is an undeniable plus.

One-two spots

This machine can only remove light fresh impurities and freshen up things that are not washed because they got dirty, but because it’s time to wash. It copes well with traces of dry earth, dust, powder, surface (not eaten into the fabric) dim spots. Oddly enough, it cleans up well fresh sunflower oil and sweat marks, as well as chocolate and sweet carbonated drinks such as fanta or cola.

An ultrasonic machine will be indispensable for delicate fabrics that are not machine washable. Delicate silk or wool products are very well processed in this way and retain their original appearance for much longer.

But fruit juices, stains from grass and berries, ketchup, wine stains, as well as traces of blood, can not be thoroughly removed by such a device. It, of course, will make them lighter, but it will not completely remove. The device will not help get rid of traces of cosmetics: lipstick, foundation or mascara. Worn socks and children's tights, as well as collars and cuffs of shirts, are too tough for him.

Despite the fact that the instruction does not recommend the use of washing powder, it is better to use it, and the higher the quality of the product, the more chances to deal with stains. Better yet, use stain removers.

It turns out that complicated, stubborn and old spots can not be removed by an ultrasonic washing machine. In most cases, it is able to cope with the simplest contaminants, which themselves perfectly "leave" when soaked in hot water with powder, especially if they are slightly rubbed. Whether such a sheepskin is worth the hassle, whether such a miracle of technology is needed on the farm, and how much it makes life easier, the decision is yours.
